The hiatus is already getting to me, so why not discuss something that's often overlooked here? I everything has to start somewhere, right? Love it, hate it, or don't care for it either way, at least it's something to talk about in this otherwise sea of shitposts.
G1 is definitely the next best gen, even if it is a fairly distant second. It was good for the time it was created and definitely had a lot of good ideas going for it, even if they weren't executed all that well. I also found myself genuinely liking a handful of the featured ponies and was hoping some of them would find their way into FiM in some shape or form. What it really had going for it was the villains as they actually do find their way back into the current continuity.
Anyway tl;dr it helped pave the way for the pone we enjoy today, take it for what it is.
