Twilight and Spike were the only two to really get to interact with the otherworld counterparts of those they know. It's just part of getting mixed up in magic like that. How would other ponies have reacted, anyhow? They may not all be as well equipped in the circumstances, but it'd be something of interest for anyone, probably. Even if out of morbid curiosity, considering how the world changed.And how would things have gone if she'd tried to take any of them back with her? There's some weird possibilities with time travel.

I also think its interesting that Flim and Flam end up resulting in a technological hyper-exploitative dystopia. It shows that even seemingly goofy antagonists can be dangerous since, since flimflam's ideology has the potential to be immensely destructive in the cartoon horse world.

I'm not too concerned by that. I think horrible pollution for a few decades is just something that happens for a while when industrializing. Eventually the ponies working in their horrific factories would rebel or a government (Celestia, why would you let this happen?) would finally step in and put limits to it.

Nightmare moon may be able to be civil, but shes also one to hold a grudge.
I could not see her just letting Celestia go, but I could maybe see her grudgingly releasing her as a final option against some threat she could not overcome alone. Shes an alicorn, and a smart pony, once she has ruled for long enough I think she will be less prone to making bad spur of the moment battle decisions, like taking impossible to beat enemies on by herself.
