Now how the infinity sign and the one were inside the equal sign shows how the timeline was under Glimmer's control - hence her using the time spell.
The one both shows singularity, and the fact that it is a static event that exists regardless of time shenanigans.
If left alone in this form, Glimmer will continuously go back and try to change the past which is why we needed to interfere with it.
We rotate the picture, Glimmer's time travel, and look at it in a new light.
Every time Twilight interferes with Glimmer's plan, the problem slowly rotates counter clock wise, slowly becoming horizontal as apposed to vertical.
In the time line when she finally succeeds we get the OP picture, now we must carry it out, or, "rip the spell scroll"
Looking at it now shows the expression 18-7, which equates to 17.
Now 17 written in base 6 (Number of the Elements of Harmony) is 25.
The digital root of 25 is 7.
7-6 = 1; There has been an addition to the "EoH" - the Mane 6 is now the Mane 7
This mathematical equation would not have been possible without Twilight manipulating it, and if it wasn't for Twilight interfering Glimmer would not have been reformed and add herself to the Mane 6.
This shows both how powerful Glimmer is, and how important Twilight is.
Glimmer being the original "equation" shows her raw power, while manipulating it shows how Glimmer's power can be useful with proper mentoring; this of course further supports Glimmer being to Twilight as Twilight is to Celestia.
