I guess you can use your own pony, though I'm not sure what the majority would say. The thread sticks with I think eight emos; Eri, Connie, Rest, Bambi, Kira, Paper, Mellow, and Addie. The thread is trying to work on characteristics and personalities of these emos before moving on to making other emo ponies.
Reason being is that /emo/ doesn't want an overflow of emo OCs without much of a personality, background, or content as a whole. And that would frighten some content creators that would join the thread.
In short, you can use either your own depressed pony or the other emo ponies. Whatever works with your story.
