2 part pony episodes are designed to air on the same day now. Imagine how shit it would have been if there was a week break between The Crystal Empire, Princess Twilight Sparkle and Twilight's Kingdom. Not enough happens in the first episode of either of those to make it enjoyable to watch. But together, airing as a 45 minute episode rather than two 22 minute ones, they work.
