What's so bad about maggots? They're just little things trying to get by, even doing you a favor when a carcass is stinking up the place. They're also total bros when you have an infection that needs maggot therapy instead of a doctors treatment, too.

Depend if you have to eat them raw or not. If not, insect can be turned into farina, and from there you can just make cake and stuff like that.
Pretty sure Ponk could find a way to bake insect-farina into something that taste good.
