Why is Twilight becoming a princess and Alicorn a bad thing when it's pretty much been building up to it the first few seasons?
At best you an argue that she didn't need to become an Alicorn to become a princess, but the princess thing was pretty obvious considering that she's Princess Celestia's own student.
I mean, why the fuck would a ruler like her take on an apprentice if not for the purpose of making said apprentice a princess for the sake of peace and/or stability? If she weren't, she might as well have let Twilight just study normally under a teacher.
