Nigga went to the crystal empire. Cadence used her bullshit love magic to see if anon's love for Umbra was real and lo and behold, it was. Shining Armor acted as a bitch and got rekted by anon.
Sombra's not ded and transfered some of his magic to anon while the dude regenerates his body. Also Alastor made a return, tortured anon and Lance. We got another human that helped them off screen to never be seen or mentioned again and then anon rekted Alastor with Sombra's magic.
Also the sisters are sending Discord to track down anon, so Umbra will use Eris to stop Discord's chaotic bullshit

The whole thing about Umbra not wanting to let anon go, no matter what. Just having a trio diminishes that goal and the whole conflict with Celestia since that basically means that now Umbra would like an open relationship, when it's also heaviy impliead that both want to marry after they stop Celestia. Fuck, Umbra even wants to have children with Anon.
A trio would basically go against her character, and would heavily hurt the conflict that has been builded
