Am I the only one who wants to see an overarching plot throughout the season? I was kinda hype at the possibility of Starlight Glimmer being a sort of season long villian with some sort of anti-friendship fueled magic. I guess S4 sort of had this, but it was more like season long character development, not really a plot.
I get that the show is more episodic, but I think a plot arc would be awesome.

I want to see the events of season 5 carry on into the next season in such a way as to change the current state of the show. For one thing, Twilight's getting-used-to-being-a-princess arc appears to be more or less finished, so I think the series should be throwing heavier challenges at her that test the abilities and knowledge she's gained. Same goes for the rest of the main six and the CMC. Now that they've overcome most of their own weaknesses, it's time to raise the stakes a little. Either that, or make them more proactive in seeking out problems to solve.

I want to see the audience learn a few critical life lessons, such as being high in power doesn't make you infallible, responsibilities are always there, and friends aren't just there to help for tasks, but to keep your back and make your life brighter.
I want episodes that can make me cry (Not too many, since it'd run stale quickly,) and an actual death that'd run an episode or two to help others understand that losses will come no matter what.
And last but not least, you'll always have friends, even after things go dark for them, and they'll always be in your heart, such as they brought you to the path that got you to the future this far.
I personally had an idea for a premiere and finale.
And it'd actually be worthy of time to be made to touch the multiple generations by expressing the darkness and sadness of life, but showing that friends will always be there to show you the way, and help you stay strong in the end.

I also want one other thing, and this one is the biggest. I want episodes that focus on our main characters again. I want episodes of some of the girls just hanging out. I don't mean all 6 together, I mean just two or three with each other at a time. Two or three, because realistically, they can't all hang out at the same time, ALL the time, but more importantly, we'll get an EVEN BETTER understanding of the girls when they are interacting with just one other friend instead of with the other 5.
This is why I think Griffon Brush Off and Look Before You Sleep are brilliant. We see the girls actually hanging out with other like friends. This is a show about friendship, but we dont get much of the girls actually being friends.
I liked Pinkie playing pranks with Rainbow Dash, and I liked Pinkie telling RD that Fluttershy is off limits. This is the kind of shit that solidifies a characters thoughts on the other characters. We know Pinkie treats RD and Fluttershy differently. We know we got chemistry between Pinkie and Dash, and between Dash and Flutters, and Flutters and Pinkie. Applejack and Rarity, Rarity and Flutters, Twilight and Dash. Etc.
I want to see what all the pairings, or groups of threes bring. I want to see the girls hang out and do only activites that work for them and not their other friends.
Some talk would be nice too. I'd love to hear fun stories, happenings, and even hear the girls talk their gripes about their other friends. Realistically, no friend is perfect.
