Hey guys, just wanted to comment that the Nightmare Night in Trottingham CYOA ended yesterday, and since I got positive responses (thanks to everyone who gave feedback in the thread, by the way) I'll continue with the project I had in mind.
The idea is that the nightmare night quest acts as a prologue of a longer story, to set up the characters and central plot. The idea, for those who don't know, is for the MC to solve mysteries in the town of Trottingham while slowly getting to the resolution of the main conflict. A mix of slice of life, mystery and aventure, think of shows like Torchwood, Fringe, Gravity Falls, any sort of town based supernatural show.Also drawing inspiration from Curwhibbles a little in thematic and perhaps execution.

I came up with making the barrier very small and pushing it through things, not unlike a spear, during an encounter with a 'thing' behind a curtain.
This became our main offence and was so broken that the QM had to nerf us hard.

It was about the size of a quarter if I recall.
But yes, any encounter that looked nasty ended up with quarter sized holes through its meaty bits.
I can't remember exactly how/why it was broken, but I know that we beat some encounters way too easily.
Of course Sloth has dice that hate us so I think it was pretty even.
