PREVIOUSLY ON COLTQUEST:
>Emerald Jewel, the unfortunate runaway protaginist, finds himself on a forest path after escaping his step-parent's house.

>He meets a Unicorn named Stargazer and drinks some stew.
>He runs from Stargazer after it seems like the she is trying to drug him.
>Emerald Jewel makes it to the town of Trotton. There are no ponies there and it seems like the town was hit by a landslide.
>Emerald spends the night in the ruins, and is awoken by mysterious robed ponies.
>Emerald runs from the ponies and meets a mare named Hope Blossoms.
>After talking briefly, Emerald Jewel fucks Hope Blossoms, but doesn't finish because of the ring around his balls.
And so our story continues with the next update...
Emerald Jewel awakes in Hope Blossoms' tent. The mare appears to be gone, and Emerald Jewel slowly stands up. After that cuddling and the nap, he certainly feels quite a bit calmer.

Emerald takes in the tent surroundings better. The tent only contains three things. A small table with some paper on it and a quill, a small mat to sleep on, and a large rucksack.

Emerald sticks his head outside and looks around. He hears what sounds like arguing a little way away, but he sees no pony around.
Emerald darts his head back in and goes to the table. There is a map here, and it seems to be of the "Witherwaters Kingdom". Well, good to know where he is, Emerald Jewel guesses. The letter contains summons for humanitarian aid to Trotton. Apparently she was stationed and sent from "Northpoint Guardpost, which unsurprisingly is just north of here.
Emerald turns to the mare's rucksack, and after glancing at the tent flap one more time rifles through the bag. It's mostly filled with clothes, but there is also a small knife, three bits, and a pencil and a notebook with torn out pages in here. Emerald contemplates taking the bits, but he doesn't have anything to hold them in. He'd either have to empty out the sack and take it probably.

The colt sneaks over to where the conversation is, but he probably needn't have bothered. The scene is big enough that it's attracting the attention of everyone around it. In the middle of the encampment there is a platoon of heavily armed, heavily armored ponies arguing with a robed pony, who you realize quickly is Hope Blossoms.
Emerald Jewel's heart sinks. he recognizes the banner that the arguing pony is carrying. It's his family's crest. Emerald listens to their conversation with rapt attention.
"-only child we've found so far is from Trotton. He couldn't possibly be the one you are looking for!", Hope pleads.
"We have two of the rescue workers as well as the cook confirming they saw a small colt with green mane and fur led into this camp by you. Now tell us where he is."
Hope is very clearly scared, but she stays silent.
"If you will not tell us where he is we'll just find him ourselves." The armored pony says. He then turns to his compatriots and says, "Make a perimeter and search the camp!"

Thinking quickly, Emerald makes his way back to Hope's tent. He empties the rucksack out and puts in the writing utensils, the money, and the small knife. After hoisting the rucksack on, the colt then takes the quill on the table and circles the town of Golden Oats, adding "We'll meet up here!"
Emerald then glances out the slit in the tent. There are armored ponies everywhere, and he creeps out slowly. Emerald Jewel gets the idea of hiding out in the ruins, perhaps possibly where he hid last time. The problem is that from the camp it's very obvious if anyone is heading the direction of the town.

Emerald crawls and keeps as low of a profile as possible and makes his way towards the town. However upon reaching the city's outskirts there is a harsh voice from behind that calls, "Wait you, stop!"
Emerald books it towards the ruins, and turns to look behind him to see two soldiers chasing him and one running back towards the base camp, probably to tell everyone that they saw him. Even with the full armor, the ponies are easily catching up to him. He needs to think of something quick.

Emerald finds the loosest pile of rubble he can and starts hopping up it. The armored ponies attempt to do the same, but between their size and weight the pile slips and sinks around them, slowing them down immensely. Emerald then finds a small hole in a broken, collapsed wall and hops in it, concealing himself. The Colt hears commotion around him, but no one seems to find his hiding spot. After a while, Emerald pokes his head out,and doesn't see anybody.

Take her for questioning since she is now involved, assume she is lying and take her as an accomplice, or take her to keep her safe from the criminal she "unknowingly" aided. Emerald decides just to wait a little bit longer. Getting a bit bored, the colt pulls out the notepad and attempts to blacken the paper in attempts to see what was written there above it.

...Oh, it looks like Hope's shopping list. Emerald suddenly gets a pang of worry for Hope. He doesn't really feel like she is probably in any danger, but he didn't even really get to say goodbye to her. He realizes that maybe Hope saw the message on the map as well, and decides to sneak closer to the road going south and see if he can intercept her.

Emerald manages to make it to the outskirts of town unseen, and hides in some bushes. It's really a good a place as any, and if he doesn't see her he can just make his way where he needs to go, though he isn't sure where that is yet.
His luck pays off however, and Hope comes barreling down the road.

Emerald attempts to sneak behind the ponies following Hope, however he can't move as quietly as he wants to as the ponies and Hope herself are moving rather quickly.
Emerald gets close enough to the ponies tailing Hope to see their cutie marks. They appear to be a small knife and what appears to be a cape, or maybe a mantle? Maybe they are still soldiers?
Emerald follows for hours and it starts to get dark. Emerald rounds the corner where he started the adventure and after traveling for another hour or two the ponies suddenly hide on the side of the road. Emerald darts into some bushes in response. The ponies seem to be looking ahead.Perhaps Hope has stopped taken up camp?

Note the look on her face from the previous picture. It's very much a look of sorrow and fear. She feels horrible about being used as bait for us, and she is hoping she doesn't find us.

Emerald takes a wide berth around both the ponies and Hope. Keeping an eye on the potential enemies as he does.
The two ponies following Hope seem to just be watching her, and they do it quite diligently. There isn't a time that Emerald glances over to them that at least one of them isn't staring in her direction.
It takes a second for Emerald to see Hope in the moonlight. She is just lying on the side of the road, and she appears to be shivering. It isn't until he gets closer that Emerald realizes that she is crying. The sound breaks his heart, but he can't think of what to do. After a few minutes Hope stands up and starts walking back the way she came.

Our dexterity is shit. Lets not take too big a risk here. If we can follow behind her and the guards just like we have been so far, that is fine. I hate to see her cry, but if she only has to feel bad now and gets to reunite with us in the end, then all is well. She would understand why we didn't get her attention while she was on the road.
We have the paper, right? Do we have anything to write with, or ties said paper to a rock with? Why don't we just chuck a note at her? Probably take less dexterity than sneaking around anymore. Stalker pones might not really think it that weird if she just picks up a stick off the ground or something.

3. Tell her not to worry about him. Emerald won't do anything stupid. He realizes what position is he in. Let Hope worry about herself, he doesn't want anything bad happening to her.
4. Thank her for what she's done for him so far - to the very point of trying to go for the colt, as he asked. It's been the first nice mare he's met in who knows how long...?

Emerald needs to get ahead of Hope without also being seen by the ponies. Thinking on it for a second, Emerald realizes that Hope will probably take the road back, meaning the mystery ponies will as well. There is a curve in the road to go back up towards Trotton, and if he cuts through the forest he can make up for lost time.
He rushes as quietly as he possibly can through the thick brush and trees, worrying that every rustle of leaf and crack of a branch might alert someone or something to his presence...

...But he makes it to the road uninterrupted. Emerald removes the notepad from the rucksack and quickly scrawls out a letter, telling her that he is fine and that she is being followed, and that maybe it may not be a good time to meet up again but hopefully some time soon they will be able too. He then sneaks out into the road and puts the note down, holding it down with a rock.

Despite the lateness of the hour and the amount of activity both of the ponies have been doing they make their way quite briskly through the woods, stopping only briefly to pick up Hope's rucksack from the side of the road.
The ponies make it to the intersection where this adventure first started, and Hope turns east. She runs for a second that direction before coming to a stop and looking backwards, noticing that Emerald isn't following.
"Is something the matter, my dear?"

"Oh! We just walked passed her, she must be camping up this way somewhere!"
The pair double back and head into the woods and approach a... Well, Joyride's camp is... Certainly interesting. Emerald was expecting some sort of tent, or perhaps a wagon like Stargazer's, but it appears more like an odd half-sphere cottage painted with reddish-orange and apple green stripes.
As you approach Hope stops you and says, "So err Joyride is, yeah she's um... Well, don't be surprised if she says some odd things."
The both of you walk closer to the house, and Hope pipes up again, "She has a problem with manners, and she can be a bit of a handful sometimes. And she, uh..."
Hope goes quiet again, and after a few more steps says, "Um, actually, can you stay right here for a second? Let me go talk to her first."
Hope then pushes you behind a tree and runs over to the door, knocks, looks around, and then enters the strange house.

With a shock Emerald spins around and sees a half-lidded, rather tired looking pony. She has pale peach fur, so pale it's almost white. In contrast, her mane is one of the darkest blacks he has ever seen. At least her pine green clothes give her some color.
