Maybe it's because I first saw Robotech before Macross, and singing so many different songs at the end was a little confusing. 'We Will Win,' ties it together.

DYRL is the song that brings everybody together on one side. They're shooting the crap out of Bodeladza yeah, but he's the final boss and at that point the Zentraedi forces turn on him.
Also DYRL as a song was supposed to just be some random love song that they found but just one small song brought races together.
