I'm always unsure which to pick in Z because while I love bro-ing it up with Rand I also enjoy Setsuko's route a lot. I can't really think of another SRW title where I have that problem, usually I'm pretty sure where I'm going.

Man fuck those "Kill 80% far away enemies in two turns" SR points. They really require the best possible move, which leaves little room to fun as you have to use optimal characters for that. I don't know how people even get to have fun with Granteed when it's slow as fuck and need high Morale for close range attacks. Bellzelute seems like a more useful unit at this point. I'm sure that Granteed can probably outpower it for boss rush, but Calvina gets dem SR points for me.
But other than those "2 turns SR points" the game's fun. Other stages are much more down to Earth and allow for a bit variety, though a lot of them still prefer Accel units with high movement (like stage where you need to chase that ship).

No, I just have 15 deployment slots for the final stage and anyone who wasn't making it to the final stage or was part of requirements for a mech that was making it to endgame (Vayeate) got the bench on my last run.
I took Earth route first run so Gamlin didn't even get a chance to get the Thunderbolt and on my second (this) run he was already a whole bunch of BP behind so I kept him benched.
Besides it's not like his SP list, skills or mechs that aren't the Thunderbolt are particularly outstanding.
