What exactly has Thunderbolt done to deserve it's acclaim? It's characters are one-dimensional. (even the casts from IBO and Seed Destiny had more depth to them) It's "dark and gritty" in the most cliche and banal ways possible. It adds noting new to the One Year War or in general.

Look it gave us a good MC who loved piloting his Gundam and a Zaku Pilot who didn't just suck and die, that, the godly 2D animation and the mecha porn was enough to keep me entertained, I don't consider it high art, but it's a fun watch.
