Have you stopped watching new /m/ anime?
I actually gave up on /m/ in these past 2 years due to the sheer amount of mecha stuff that was coming out. I couldn't keep up and lost interest.

Nope. Delta and Kuromukuro are satisfying my need for giantrobutts. Even if I didn't like these characters, and I do, it'd still be worth sticking around for the action.
I'd even say that these shows have proved the worthiness of cgi.

Sadly, not as much mecha as I'd like, but there are shows worth watching and that I enjoy.
>>14458709
I've also enjoyed Delta, more so than Frontier. I need to watch the other one though.
>>14458675
Not at all. It's better than anything in the 90's.
>>14458675
>there are people who still think mecha anime hasn't gone to shit
Confirmation bias doesn't mean modern mecha anime is good.
It just means there's nothing for the people who hate it to circlejerk over.
>>14458675
Less and Less, mostly because there's more interesting non /m/ anime coming out.
>>14458709
I've heard high praise for Kuromukuro and plan on watching it soon. Are the bad characters you're talking about referring to Delta or Kuro?

Mecha 3DCGI has been coming into it's own for a while. Seemed to earn some grudging acceptance after MJP, but even shows like Rinne No Lagrange proved that using 2d techniques in 3dcgi can make it more tolerable.
And it's a bout time to be honest. Though it still has a long way to go. Look how well Voltron handles it's CGI compared to most mecha anime.

>Voltron
It's fucking Dreamworks, that's just not fair.
Though there is a problem when Voltron's 2D art is better than any anime that came out the same season. Maybe if you treat it as an OVA?
>>14462089
Yeah it only took what, 13 years after the Yukikaze OVA for broadcast anime to come close to its level?
It's more like everyone else is starting to loosen their asshole about accepting something new, if anything.
