For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, dont make the new people worry!

So I really hate the vomit green in this kit, and so does my girlfriend, so she tried to change the color of the kit's green to pink, and keep the bluesince pink and light/translucent blue are her two favorite colors, and I think it came out looking better, although pretty token girl kit looking. Honestly, there's nothing else really redeeming this kit, so I think the change in main color could do it some justice. Thoughts?

The sword is a bit loose where it swings, so it might have started to droop after I started to take the pictures. Hopefully a spray of top coat will help solidify. And this isn't a final pose. I still need the Qanta, and when I have that, it'll be easier to harmonize the three's poses.

I have the HG o the thunderbolt FA, but I got it a long time ago before there was even an idea for a thunderbolt OVA and any idea of it getting a MG was crazy. It's pretty nice quality, it comes with it's own stand and a lot of decals like an MG would, and the articulation is nice. But the MG looks far superior with it's ability to have all the missile pods open as well as the other gimmicks such as the cockpit opening (i think it comes with a core fighter? not 100% about that) and the fuel tank booster things on the back look like they can be swiveled around. It also looks like the feet have a cool little thing where parts of the bottoms open up so it could snatch on to steady footing on the debris in space and then one of the main selling points I think it has is that the sub arms on the backpack that hold the second twp shields are poseable whereas with the HG they are just U shaped pieces of plastic which still have a small degree of posability but in the end kinda suck (then again you could always get the HG and also the weapon pack that goes with the GM Cardigan from BF TRY and make your own much more posable sub arms quite easily.) Also with MG's you always get better color separation the majority of the time which is nice since on the HG some of the leg boosters have to have stickers on them in order to match the color off the rest of the boosters.
The HG is real cool and nicely detailed but I would say go for the MG since it's superior in almost every way, unless the scale being dierent from every other kit you have is a real big issue

Done for now, primed to check the bevels and everything. Still gotta make a camera pod and some other details. Not using the gun for this kit either just the kit I had by the booth. In the end I used the barrel nozzle from the build mk ii pack because I don't have my dremel to lathe my own right now. Still it feels really good to basically turn sticks and putty into something nice.

Also the build mark ii didn't have a split barrel so I marked the center of the circle with the knife blade then cut down the center very carefully with the razor saw, then to get the shape I folded a piece of 320 grit over, so the fold would make the little semi circle ending at the bottom of the split. It worked really well but it was pretty close to going off center during the sawing.

I have one, I think it's a great proportioned kit for the age. It doesn't have much posability due to the gimmick (like it can't turn at the waist...) but the strange wrist angle and double pivot knees make it pretty good and able to pull off some poses other kits don't do as well. Good "flex" poses for example. It's nice how different the kit is, and one of my favorite designs as well.

I love 00's mech design, the Exia and Qant, but this thing's hideous. Those colors don't work, at all, it's amazing how a simple thing like inverting the colors just makes it look absolutely disgusting. The new sword and the Transient bit shields look fugly, and the cat ears are out of place. Nothing adds anything to the base design. It's shit m8.

Let's face it, after the first few episodes the suit design in Try just became incredibly, incredibly lazy.
Lightning Gundam just gets backpacks that fuck up the only thing the suit had going for it, which was a sleek, refined design.
Build Burning just loses armor to look more toyetic.
Fumina replaced the greatest GM variant in years with a shit SD that then turned into an even more toyetic SD covered in glowy shit.
Lucas literally just pilots a stock machine.
Ky Kiske's gunpla is something that would be almost cool if it wasn't trying so hard.

I'm building the Destiny EBM and the shoulders are giving me trouble. The shoulder joints are very stiff when swinging forward and they can't bend up like Dalong's site shows.
I'm pretty sure I followed all the instructions so I don't know where I went wrong.
The knee joints are also very stiff.

I am strongly inclined to agree with you; all the stiff parts are silver plated. For the knee joint, I actually had to step on it (carefully application of bodyweight with the heel) to get it to seat properly.

I think I remeber there being a R3 conversion for the RG Exia, but I haven't heard of one for the 00R > 7S. Fuck the Astraea, though. oNot piloted by SetsunaAnd I've always hated the design personally.
Technically speaking, my "legacy" is for collections of all the flavors of a mobile suit in its respective anime. Therefore the only thing I would need is 2 more Exias for R1 and R2 to get the full effect. The only question is, how easy would it be to convert HG Exia R2's parts to the RG, or is there a conversion? R1 would be pretty easy, just would need to make some scratch-built head battle damage greeblies.

The reason the joints break is because Bandai decided to make the peg joint on the leg and hip way too tight using the old shitty ABS plastic instead of the new ones that are in kits like the MG Sinanju OVA version.

There was a webshop exclusive conversion to turn the RG Exia into the Repair version, and there's a third party conversion to turn it into the R2 or R3.
Only way of getting a 00 Seven Sword right now is by combining parts with the HG kit, I found a build article on exactly how to do it when I googled "RG 00 Seven Sword". Also, BTF, the people who made the Full Saber kit for the MG 00Q have made a smaller-scale version for the RG.
Read the document, and the links but didnt find what i was looking for. So after 15 years of wanting a gunpla i figured wtf and was about to order one. However... was the recent tallgeese 3 mastergrade (a few years ago i guess) a limited edition? Im trying to find it but its either out of stock or pages wont load when googling it. Hlj still carries most of the katoki redesigns of the GWing suits but only the tallgeese 1. Any ideas on where i can look? Figured if i was to start collecting gunpla - why not go for my favorite suit before getting the zeta gundam.

MG Tallgeese 3 was indeed a limited edition, and was sold through Bandai's webshop to Japanese addresses only. A few companies out there specialize in ordering a bunch of everything that comes out that way but they're probably long out of stock.

I might need to get the P-Bandai Repair upgrade. I honestly like the Repair, and have my Ignition Mode in the Repair mode because of that. I'll have to look into the R2 resin kit. Maybe I Can try to salvage stuff from the HG to make a "RG Exia Repair II" but we'll see.
As for the Manga 00R/Q versions I personally don't really like the designs much. I think I'll stick with only anime, for now, and for this small project, just the 3 base models, then move onto expanding it with the 2 Exia Repairs. If I'm bored, and out of a backlock, will revisit the display with the Manga versions, possibly.
I mean, I still have to buy 2 more Barbies to finish the S1 family. Then there's the speculated "Form 7" that's silhouette has been floating around for S2 that I'll obviously HAVE to get. Good to know, though, so thanks for the intel!

I think the reason why the DX stands out so much is how average a build it is.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think there's anything average about the DX itself, but as far as MG releases in the last few years or so, its par for what the line is supposed to be.
It's not incredibly expensive, it's not huge, but when the TSC is fully deployed it has a lot of shelf presence. It's not overly complex with unnecessary panels or greeble, but the gimmicks it does have (cannons, solar panels, shield) are executed well. Good articulation and stability, with minimal sticker use.
I guess the point I'm trying to make is that there's nothing special about it, it's simply a newer kit that's financially reasonable most and has comparatively few flaws

What do you guys use to pin pieces for spraying? sticky tack? I've been doing it by hand up to now but it's starting to get a bit frustrating and I want something that I can stick a toothpick or whatever into for holding a piece.

Got in my G Bouncers, and G Xiphos from Amiami today. Always wanted to build a Bouncer, and its cousin Xiphos sinxe the G-Bouncer is my favorite suits from AGE, and I loved the design of the Xiphos too.
