I'm not really sure the movie has anything I want to see expanded or retold personally. I didn't really care about the political situation with CONSENT and whatever other faction(s) was in it, nor did I care about the personal struggle of solving a food crisis via bio-luminescence (which makes no sense anyway). The designs are cool when not done in awful 3DCG, but the characters were flat, the story was plodding and the setting was nothing special. The whole thing was just kind of there. I don't see what you could pick out of it to make a manga about that would be interesting or fun.

I think a manga reboot would be able to fix some of those issues, personally i liked the food crisis used for political strong arming. as for the characters that's what a reboot/remake would be around to try and iron out. really liked the retired bad ass thing that was going for Mark.

I always like to think that they made some next level breakthrough in armor tech that made the bigger frames feasiable again. irc when mark was fighting Jack on the mirror and landed the finishing blow with his beam saber, the damaged to Jack's raid was moderate at best but when mark went inside the colony to take care of the pair of Bugu's that got in, he sliced through them like soft butter.
