Honestly I never saw Cima as much of a leader outside of her own fleet. The only real reason she had as much pull with her forces was due to how close they had been prior and during the One Year War. They all came from the same colony, they all were involved in the colony gassings, they all lost their homes when their home colony was turned into the Solar Ray weapon, and they all were exiled from Zeon at Karma point during the evacuation to Axis. It's assumed she and her forces never accepted anyone else into their pirate fleet during the aftermath of the One Year War.
If you really want to have her be a faction leader in a Gihrens Greed though, you should give the PS2 entry of the series a shot. Once you beat the game at Revil and Gihren, you gain access to a create your own faction mode, letting you make your own force to your liking.

Kinda sorta, All the non-Axis based factions were actually rather terrified of the guy, mostly due to how effective him and Bask were at stamping out any resistance faction that cropped up prior to A.E.U.G and the G-3 gassing of Side 1.
The Titans were however played like a damn fiddle during the whole Gate of Zedan incident. Since the Titans had clustered its main forces at the Gryps 2 colony laser, it was nearly impossible to breach that position with A.E.U.G and Axis combined efforts. But by gifting the Titans A.Boa.Qu, it gave them a far more viable fortress and it made them relaxed enough to split its entire force into two separate fleets, allowing Axis to easily lead a sneak attack of Grpys and successfully destroy nearly 80% of the forces stationed at the Gate of Zedan. Where Jamitov had previously had the upper hand, he was forced into a legitimate negotiation for an alliance with Haman at that point.

Rommel and Blue unit were infamous for hitting outpost across Africa if I remember correctly. Eventually the Federation and Titans just decided to build the Kilimonjoro fortress as a way to keep it's forces more solidified and to not feed the Desert dwelling Zeon forces who were raiding their outpost yearly. The GM IIs were already on the path to being phased out, it's why you never see them being used by the Titans or Federation for anything more than guarding garrisons. Also one pilots Quattro kills early on in Zeta mentions how outclassed his GM II is compared to the Rick Dias. It's not that bad to learn how to play honestly. The first time you play it will be very highly trial and error based, even more so the G Generation series or Super Robot Wars. I'd say it would take roughly and hour or two to finally get used to knowing where everything is.
The events however are another affair entirely. An English wiki was constructed with all the event paths for all the major factions in Axis V, and luckily the event paths for Blood of Zeon and Shin Gihrens greed all share the same events for the One Year war, making it universal for the other games. I printed out copies of the event paths just to be safe incase the wiki goes down for any reason.

Problem with Gihren's Greed is that it's not simply a niche game.
It's a turn based Grand Strategy Game - which is a very niche genre on it's own.
And it uses a Gundam license and leans very, very heavily on it - making it even more niche.
Both niches don't really mix, so it, pretty much only hits a sweet spot for ONLY Gundam fans with an affinity for strategy.
Combine it with the fact that it's based on a Gundam Universe that didn't really gain much traction in the west, and we have, as hilariously as it sounds - a niche game within a niche, within a niche.
A western release would be lucky to break four-digit number of copies sold(yeah, id be among them) - making it likely that not only it wouldn't make BanRise any money, but end as a net fucking loss, not even paying the cost of a translation.
