Fuck you OP I actually played the game. Outside of jumping and shooting it's not MM-like at all. Each time a MM "clone" comes around it ends up playing fucking nothing like actual MM. Hell I'd say even MM9 & 10 fall into that territory. They got the look down but the gameplay design was far removed the mindset which went into the earlier games in the series.

To be quite honest almost all of the bosses in Gunvolt were actually quite likeable characters, especially after you've listened to the audio dramas and learned more about them. Well, okay, except Stratos. That guy was just batshit insane.
Also, I'm still sad we never got to fight Zonda. He...she... it looked like a very fun boss.
