She is currently pursuing activities as a member of an idol group.

Every time. That doesn't make evolutionary levels "meaningless" it just means that they aren't limits of power. A child level digimon is still a child level digimon, no matter how strong it is, a la Lucemon or the artificial Digimon Arkadimon and Gizmon.
Devimon was clearly stronger than the chosen ones because they were new to the game, he was the big bad, and he was boosting his power with the dark gears, Angemon had an elemental bonus, an attribute bonus, and plot convenience. As the show went on, the rookie levels grew stronger, as well, but Tailmon was actually trained the whole time, which was why she could keep her adult level form. As a species, Gatomon could still degenerate back into plotmon, a child level. They're stages of life, not solely power.

I'm probably going to get flack for this, but I'll go as far to say that I fucking loved the American Dub, and how it introduced me to this series.
Yeah, the songs were corny, certainly not being on the level of Koji's songs, but they were always hype and awesome when played, and the "forced jokes" that people complain about generally made it a fun watch, growing up and even revisiting. I've even grown to enjoy the Digirap in a sort of way, it's just so cheesy that it turns into being silly fun to think about.
Of course there's nostalgia, but I never had it where the American dub "overlapped" the original, or somehow ruined it when I could always enjoy both. The movie being a splicing of three sounds bad, but I still feel like it worked in a way that makes it its own neat thing to look at on its own.
My only grievance with shit like >>14442309 and what they did with the Fusion dub is that they're trying TOO HARD to emulate what I feel barely made the first dub work as its own thing to enjoy apart from the original.
Fusion sucked dicks, didn't have catchy songs, didn't have any sort of pull, and was a poor dub in a time where it's piss easy to find the original online when most fans already would have. It speaks volumes on how it didn't even dub or air all the episodes.
I can imagine the logic of trying to branch off for the audience that enjoyed the show as kids, after all Tri is mostly "Nostalgia Bait: The Series" anyway, but it doesn't work if they're barely even half-assing it, and when EVERYBODY wants them to play it straight-forward. I never heard Butter-Fly as a kid, hell I didn't even hear it until a few years ago, the only Japanese Digimon song I've known for a long time is the 02 opening.

I really like the crazy that older Digimon had, like various huge muscled creatures that had restraining belts/chains, battle damage like holes in wings or flesh that seems to be dead, asymmetrical cybernetics, multiple species that were essentially filthy slimes inside mascot costumes, broad references to a bunch of things including Devilman and Godzilla monsters which still had their own style instead of just feeling like "parody version of x", describing things in terms of computer terminology, and the reuse of the same design elements in different contexts that made them feel unified different paths for evolution.

I've pretty much accepted it by now. Backwards compatibility went out the window with the Pendulum X, although it introduced the three prong system. The Xros Loader's IR Port was the real nail in the coffin, though.

Seraphimon's strong, but Holyangemon hits harder than any other Perfect in the game anyway so the difference is negligible... but Holyangemon has a REALLY FUCKING GOOD SUPPORT and Seraphimon does not.
...not like you can even use him for all that long anyway. I don't remember if he's usable during Our War Game (pretty sure the last battles in that are just Omegamon vs Diablomon) and then the postgame arc is about main characters so your entire team gets shunted off.

Ofanimon's pretty much a straight upgrade because Angewomon comes at a reasonable time for a Perfect instead of at the ass end of the game right before everyone gets Ultimates. Most of the Ultimates are either straight upgrades or are better enough at killing things to want to use them for what little time you have them. But you get Holyangemon right before everyone upgrades anyway so it's already close to par with the Ultimates anyway, and it has... Holy Healing or something like that? That's one of the best (if not the best) supporting attacks in the game. And Heaven's Gate is RIDICULOUS, it will pretty much always Shock and Break the enemy.

Playing it. I'd post pics of comparison between Holy and Seraphi but I lost that file in a file wipe ages ago, and only started playing again sporadically after it got translated.
I think it is fully translated as of the 5.0 patch (or, well, everything but menus anyway) though.
There's plenty of issues with the game, really. Evolutions tend to fall into the category of either being either really good or not very good at all after the Adult level, even when they weren't some Digimon got completely fucking shafted in terms of special attacks (Togemon doesn't have a good move to hit a single enemy with, Alturkabuterimon's moves are HORRIFICALLY EXPENSIVE for when you get it, things like that), the fact that they follow the plot almost too well means that there's a lot of annoyances involving character availability and similar things, for some godawful reason it defaults to putting all partner Digimon on "the AI controls them for you" which is really bad because the AI is shit (that one's easily fixed at least), and it has the expected problem that like every Digimon game except the Card Battle ones run into in that you have to spend fucking ages grinding on things.
Like, seriously, look at this shit. Here I have Metalgreymon, an absurdly powerful beater with reasonable cost attacks who's finisher costs 13 and who's only real weakness is that it's slow and doesn't have any multi-target moves. Also its SP is piss but you can fix that with Digipieces easily and they don't matter as much when your basic attack deals tons of damage - right now mine has a +50 SP part.
Next to it is Alturkabuterimon, who I got after Metalgreymon. Tentomon's a defensive mon so it can tank hits better, but with its significantly lower HP it amounts to the same thing. It's much weaker, and its basic attack is also much weaker. It starts with a significant boost in SP over Metalgreymon... but its best move costs fucking 23, so you end up having less uses of it! I don't think it's that much stronger either. Fortunately Altur has an attack that hits all enemies, otherwise it'd be totally outclassed.
And then next to those is Patamon who can't evolve and is pretty fucking terrible in basically every way. And because the game held it off for so long, it's also ten levels under the entire rest of my team and I have to grind it back on wilds designed to face a team of Adults in the high 20s and low 30s.
This is not fucking good game design.
