Xabungle is one of the few mecha shows I've seen to consistently deliver good comedy. It also has a fair bit of good action and character too, which helps. Some people prefer King Gainer, but I found Xabungle hit every note higher than King Gainer personally - except the OP I suppose. Blue Gale is good, but King Gainer is amazing.

Either Patlabor or Dai-Guard. Nadesico wasn't bad either.

From what I've watched, Dai Guard. Not only is it stuff you can relate to easily, it also doesn't make you feel like an asshole for laughing at it.

I recently watched Macross Frontier and I thought it was pretty good. Didn't stop me from laughing at it several times watching Ranka repeatedly get ignored by Alto or cockblocked by Sheryl for several episodes in a row.
Shin Mazinger ZERO lies neatly in between these two. It has a lot of moments of genuine humour, and then it nosedives into awe-inspiring unintentional comedy whenever it starts to go overboard with its edginess. I kinda prefer this over one or the other

You know, I've always wondered if Fukuda's antics are all part of his master plan. Maybe the idea is that he knows his hilariously bad trainwreck anime wouldn't be near as funny as they are if people knew he was doing it on purpose, so he keeps ranting on social media about how his works are misunderstood masterpieces to maintain the illusion that he has no idea what he's doing and to provide us with even more laughs on the side.

I've finished reading Cyborg 009 up to the beginning of the Pyramid arc. I've seen a few stories translated here and there, but nothing comprehensive. What's translated between that period and before Conclusion: God's War?
