Those cut-ins were the best addition to BX's animations though, OG has been doing similar shit for years. It looks much better than UX just zooming in on the regular sprites in a lot of cases.

I'll take Demonbane's recycled and milquetoast animations any day over the shambling abomination that are BX's 00 and Quanta.
That and boy do I hate a lot of BX's coloring. There's far too many harsh lazily slapped on gradients in there, like Raijin-Oh's sprite.
