But it kind of is for a good chunk of the show. I like Ideon, but it has some very apparent flaws and the Buff-Clan-Plan-of-the-week is one of them.
It gets interesting when it gets away from that, though, and especially when the crew comes to Earth's solar system. I'm surprised more people don't mention Ideon blowing a hole in the rings of Saturn.

Because the atmosphere of the show is quite downbeat and pretty much revolves around some of the nicer characters getting shat upon.
I love Ideon, but I can't watch more than a few episodes of it at a time without moving on to something else for a change.
