Chamber is in an unfortunate position where he can probably outrun and dodge their attacks for the most part, but if he gets hit by anything he is basically toast.
If it was a single MP Eva against Chamber, I would hold out the possibility that Chamber could calculate a firing pattern to get past the AT Field and slowly cut apart the Eva with he death of a thousand cuts. But against 9 at once, there just isn't time for him to do anything like that. If he doesn't have a gamewinning solution immediately, he has to run away.

I watched through Ideon episode 14 the other day to gif Cosmo's eyes during the Itano Circus.
Honestly, I'm fucked. As much firepower as Ideon can potentially bring to bear, it isn't particularly maneuverable. More to the point, it's toughness is highly dependent on the will of the Ide--literal plot armor that can choose not to work if it doesn't like you.
The Ideon is also mostly armed with vulcans and missiles, which will probably fail to harm the MP Evas. The weapons that would actually be effective are all dependent on the Ide liking you, same as the armor.

Even if they're just vulcans and missiles they were created by super advanced civilizations that are established as descendants of humans that basically perfected interstellar colonization. They move from planet to planet pretty quickly so I doubt Ideon's actually as slow as it appears in the animation.
In fact, a lot of super robots suffer from this sort of shit. IIRC Mazinger can fly at mach 3 or something with the scrander. J-Decker and co. flew to Saturn in an afternoon and fought an interstellar battleship. Several fights in Gaogaigar had the crew flying around celestial bodies in battles. Goldran and co. traveled to a different galaxy in under a month or something like that and then the main villain's battleship flew to them during the course of a single battle.
If you go by their best feats or the settings I'm pretty sure most super robots would be having fights at hypersonic at a minimum and FTL in many cases.

The LCL sea is the primordial soup from which all life arose. It's not sentient, humans can just reform themselves from it they have a strong enough sense of self, i.e. forming their AT-field again. It's likely that souls are separate from the LCL, the LCL is just their physical bodies having broken down into the original form without an AT-field to hold it into a particular form.

The people in Ideon aren't "descendants of humans," they're actual humans. And while they do have interstellar travel, it's quite new and they've only just begun to have colonized space. Most of the human colonist, outside the very youngest, were actually born on Earth.
Which isn't to downplay that accomplishment, but to extrapolate that their missiles and guns are better just because they also have FTL seems like a bit of a stretch.

No, they're the only thing that can penetrate it reasonably.
Actual nukes are way too destructive to use anywhere near the city and even N2 mines are pushing it.
The positron rifle they used needed power from Japan's entire power grid, provided Japan was completely destroyed after the flooding from the second impact. It's still a lot of power compared to a giant humanoid that can actually run on a battery even if it's for a short time.
They did show another positron rifle that presumably used less power since it didn't have any of the staging the prototype did, but it was apparently either weaker outright or the positron rifles just don't have the range to hit targets in the upper atmosphere.
Keep in mind that even with all the pseudo-reality warping that you see metaphysics is a legitimate hard science in Evaverse and all of these things like AT-fields and souls are corporeal so to speak. In that case, penetrating any AT-field is just a matter of having the power to do so.
Also keep in mind Rebuild really goes over the top but the TV show was less fantastical. They blocked Ramiel's beams with a shuttle's repurposed heatshield (use for re-entry) and Ramiel wasn't completely obliterating big hilltops or mountains.

They're controlled by a Kaworu-based variant of the Dummy Plug system though, right? Since the whole point of the Dummy Plus was to allow for remotely controlled Evangelions, and an Eva can't beat an Angel if it doesn't have an AT field, it'd be absurd for the dummy plug to be incapable of generating one.
We only ever see the MP Evas in Eva vs. Eva combat, where AT Fields are only relevant if one of the combatants doesn't have one. They may still have them, and it just isn't demonstrated to us.

Without AT fields, they would be useless. And even with AT fields they normally wouldn't show it in use, since the only time they ever really visually show that can use an AT Field to neutralize an AT Field is in the first episode of the show to establish the concept.
Like, we know that Evas produce AT Fields, even if it isn't visually shown every time they do. We can also assume the Rei-based dummy plug can produce an AT Field, since even if Shinji was producing the AT Field necessary to defeat Bardiel, it would have been pointless for Gendo to try to start Unit 01 without Shinji to fight Zeruel, since without the AT Field or an absurdly powerful weapon it would have been unable to penetrate it.
Therefore, it seems LIKELY to reason that the MP Evas and their Dummy Systems would also be capable of generating an AT field. Though obviously not conclusively proven.
