Hey guys. So I was just thinking about how kick ass super robot designs are. I have a lot of favorites, but Goshogun is by far my number 1.
What's your favorite Super Robot design?

Compatible Kaiser, despite /m/'s negative reaction to it
>>14391794
/m/ doesn't like Compatible Kaiser? The fuck?
>>14391116
>Super Robot
There's those words again
>Making me choose
Ugh, there's hardly anything I dislike. The hard thing about this is that a lot of these robots use very similar design elements and those that don't usually are still not significantly better than those that do.
I'm just gonna go with the G Zero Gunner. It's what I'm feeling right now.

said no one ever

Can't beat the OG super robot.
>>14391921
>G Zero Gunner
I feel very lame for not knowing this robot, or what it's from.
>>14392626
Godannar
>>14392565
>OG
>When it's not even the original Mazinger, let alone coming before Tetsujin
It's really a toss-up between Getter OG and G-Self.
Gravion, man.Obari <3
This guy totally counts because of the ludicrous way the show presents itself.
>>14392894
And also, Dragonar.
CHOO CHOO MOTHERFUCKER
>>14392895
It shoots rainbow coloured song energy. That's twice as ridiculous as pretty much everything else ITT
>>14392915
Hell yes, my /m/an!
>>14392750
Well, I like him.
>>14391116
Would Daimos be G Gundam's daddy?
>>14392915
Not my favorite design but his catchphrase is the best.
>>14391116
Good a thread as any to ask.
What's a good entry point for the Braves series? Production order? Is there a chart on this?
>>14393647
Incidentally, three of them were directed by the same guy who did Gundam X, so you can start with those (although half of Might Gaine has crabsticks, so that's up to you).
>>14393647
There's no real connection or running theme among the various series aside from recurring mech design elements and MotW, although there are exceptions even to that. No continuity either. Pick whichever appeals to you most and start with that one
Failing that, Goldran is my personal favorite, and I've seen lots of love for it from everyone else as well now that it's fully subbed. A lot of people will also mention Da Garn or J-Decker as their favorites, but I don't think they're quite as representative of the franchise as a whole as Goldran
>>14393703
I like Grumptron also. It's just so sleek.
Got a bunch of favorites, but I'm a big fan of Dancouga Max God, it's like Dancouga but Braved the fuck up and it's pretty glorious despite having some minor changes from the original.
I should get the SRC eventually.

>despite /m/'s negative reaction to it
Even /m/ isn't so pleb as to ignore the majesty that is Compatikaiser
>>14393230
>G Zero Gunner
I think Machine robo would be his dad, but Daimos is their grandfather.
>>14391116
Gonna have to go with pic related.

Isn't Taekwon V the first robot to use martial arts as its main gimmick?
And it feels very strange to say that a Korean ripoff was influential in anyway, but I can't think of an earlier one unless you consider Tetsujin's fisticuffs to be "martial arts"
I don't have a clear favorite, but Zambot is cool as fuck.
Personally fond of these two. More KoRyuOh than RyuKoOh since melee and nunchaku. Martial arts are cool. Most of my favourites are Banpresto Originals. I need to expand my horizons sometime.
