is there anyway to fix it?

No. Google "CCCP", it comes with Media Player Classic.

Or get MPV. It's very light and you don't need to install codecs or anything.

lol, VLC can't be that bad can it? I watched the series on my PS3 with Movian and it played just fine.
there is some hotkey in VLC to change the audio timing, I forget tho I haven't used it in ages

Depends on how much you care.
MPC-BE with madVR comes very close to having the actual blurays. But you need a laptop or PC with a dedicated GPU.

I use the K-Lite codec pack.
Updates way more often then either and has had 0 problems since forever.
