It is, this year this time back under BBC control though what that means is to be seen. Given BBC's track record of reboots lately and stupid political correctness they could bastardize the show.
They already have fucking Dana O'Brian as the presenter which may be annoying, he's definitely no Craig Charles. The flipside is Johnathan Pearce is back as the commentator.

You still needed good drive control to use a piercing robot so I don't see why not. There have been examples of robots which were amazing in design but the operator couldn't drive for shit and fly off into the pit.
