Mecha with faces like this?

Hi, /m/. Kind of a newfag, but not totally, as I've visited a couple of times in the past.

What mecha have faces like this, Gundam or otherwise? Is there a term for faces like this? The key part I'm talking about is how the mouth and nose areas appear covered by a smooth (no lines) guard or mask. Other examples I can think of off of the top of my head are Rising Gundam, Nobell Gundam, and Optimus Prime, if he counts.

TL;DR
Post mecha that look like their mouths and noses are "covered" by a smooth mask or guard.

Exia, Quan[T]], a bunch of the ZAFT gundams. There's a fuckton of mecha with a face styled like that.
>>
>>14370623
Oh yeah, I forgot about Exia. What do you think it is about the design that makes it seem so cool?
>>
>>14370616
Looking at the two, I think I like both of them equally.
>>
>>14370616
Zeta counts i think. It's just a mouth piece.

Also, looking at the Shining in super mode makes it look like a stereotypical design of a samurai. Par for the course for G.
>>
>>14370646
But I like Shining in super mode...
>>
>>14370646
Also, Zeta's not bad. Something about its face throws me off, though.
>>
>>14370646
Doesn't it make sense for Shining Gundam to look like a Samurai since it is Neo-Japan's representative?

You don't like face plate vents or what?

G-Arcane
Fenice Rinascita
Unicorn/Banshee/Phenex (Unicorn mode)
Sinanju Stein/Sinanju
Zeta Project MS (Delta series and Zeta series)
G-Bouncer variants, AGE-2 and AGE-3 variants, AGE-FX, Legilis, Shaldoll variants
Many Gundams from SEED/Destiny and 00

>You don't like face plate vents or what?
Oh, I'm fine with faceplate vents, I just like it even more when a cool design is made to look that much cooler with a sleek head design with a smooth faceplate. Also, looking at most of my figures and favorite characters, they tend to not have mouths in their design, or at least covered mouths. I wonder what that says about me?
>>
I remembered Duel Gundam had this.

>>14370714
Maybe it's more.common than I thought. I haven't actually watched any anime for several years now, let alone mecha anime.

Then almost every Gundam and, like, more than 50% of non-super mecha designs in general would be good? Face plate is a very common detail.

Do you like the head on pic related?

Take a look at the designs from these shows:

Gunbuster
Captain Earth
Star Driver
Eureka 7
Suisei no Gargantia
Majestic Prince
Active Raid
Casshern Sins

>>
>>14372762
Respected and renowned authors have been using "literal" in the figurative sense for nearly 100 years, pointing to an even earlier colloquial usage. With that amount of years behind it, we're well past colloquial usage now, and it's a standard definition. Words often come to mean the inverse of their original definitions, and just because you, like every other pop grammar Nazi, have hit upon the low-hanging fruit that is "literally" doesn't mean you don't go through life oblivious to every other word you'd be using incorrectly if this were 200 years ago.

Trying to correct people about their figurative use of literally is a moot point. fun fact: we now use "moot" almost exclusively to mean "something not worth discussing", when it originally was used to describe topics of such great interest and importance for debate that they were worth calling a moot (meeting) over
so get bent
>>
>>14372795

Sure is newspeak in here.

>>14372780
If it's just shaped like something, that means it's not literally that thing. It just looks like it.
