Speaking of Katoki, apparently there's a Virtual-On manga starting up. It features some spiffy Virtualoid variants, including the MC's custom Cypher, the Bluestalker.

About 99% of what Katoki redesigns is Okawara's work. The old man is great at gimmicks, but he's a rotten draftsman.

He's the one in charge of Bandai's model design so chances are if Bandai is making a toy of it then Katoki is the one designing the model. He's even listed as working on the primary model design for the majority of Bandai's Star Wars model kits.

I never noticed how Z Plus Hummingbirds' shoulders are all unarmoured and stripped down like that. This is pretty neat and dare I say a little, ahem, erotic.
Kinda makes me want to see a Superior Gundam that looked more like the Z-Plus. instead of a combination of the Zeta and and ZZ as the feminine would fit its whole sentient learning AI shtick a lot more.

Novel Banshee doesnt have the gold around the collar and doesnt used any Armed Armors, just the same equipment Unicorn does.
most HG and MG Banshee kits come with the original Unicorn parts so you can still build them to the novel specs if you really care.

Well, to be fair, they've been doing both for a while now. I think it started back in 1991 with the "Double G Project", when 0083 and F91 were released right next to each other -- 0083 was for UC classicists, F91 was for newcomers. Then they stuck mostly to AUs for a while, but lately we've been getting AU tv shows and UC OAVs pretty consistently -- The Origin, Unicorn, Thunderbolt, all coming out as OAVs while more AUs come out at TV shows.
You just gotta look at the AUs as not really even Gundam -- just new Real(ish) Robot shows. If made today, Vifam and Layzner and Dragonar would have been called Round Vernian Gundam, SPT Gundam, and Metal Armor Gundam.

There's evidence in the Zeta novels to support the idea that the Pallas Athene and the Bolinork Samahn, as well as The O, were equipped with Biosensors. Theoretically, the three could be networked via Psyco-Waves to function as a strike team: recon and scanning, long-range artillery, and close assault. The novels also say the Hambrabi has a Biosensor.
Regardless, I agree as well that the Bolinork Samahn is, aesthetically, a total head-scratcher.
