Also his PTSD stems from the Red Shoulders' attack on his village and them killing everyone. Actually being a soldier isn't exceptionally stressful for him. He might even find it relaxing.

That's also part of PTSD. Soldiers being unable to cope with civilian life because war and killing is what they're used to.
