It's an underwater special ops modification for a Zaku, pretty sure the Zaku II rather than the I. It's from MSV-R Return of Johnny Ridden. It's completely silent and undetectable underwater so long as it moves slowly.

After looking through some of the fleet composition data for Char's Counterattack, I have to wonder how exactly is it possible for Londo Bell to actually put up a fight against Neo Zeon (even taken account to spare parts, pilots, and what not) if they were outnumbered that badly. The following is the supposed battle strength for both sides.

I want to gripe about the first two Patlabor movies but don't feel like making a thread. They were really boring and both villain's motives were really unclear. And I say boring not because they save the mecha action until the end, I don't mind that, but because 80% of the movie was just talking heads in dimly lit rooms, sometimes with their backs facing the camera. It felt really cheap.
And why did E.Hoba want to devastate Japan? Was he just butthurt he had to move a lot as a kid or something because of the constant restructuring, and blamed it on the Labors? He was it would ruin the labor industry for sure, but the property destruction and civilian casualties would easily outweigh the results, and people would just lose their homes and there would be even MORE remodeling. And did he kill himself because he was just too afraid of the consequences?
And the second movie, it was better but why did the guy so badly want to stage a civil war? He was mad he was the lone survivor of a suicide mission, and decided he wanted to take it out on Japan? How and where did he find followers?
It all seems really flimsy and the second movie was mostly an excuse to babble on about peace and wartime.

No they didn't mess up any scenes, they changed the context and meaning of some, but all the new scenes give a definitely better viewing experience. Greatest part of the Blu Ray HD remaster is they redrew so many off model drawings of the characters as redrawing entire battles by replacing stock footage. Pic related, remaster is on the right. The TV series if FULL of QUALITY everywhere which the Blu Ray HD Remaster fixes.
Little known fact is there actually 2 versions of the Seed/Destiny Remaster. There's the Youtube or broadcast version, and there is the Blu Ray release which contains a metric shit ton of new re-drawn frames, fixed character models, and better coloring and effects.

Considering that the SDF is NOT a signatory of the Antarctic treaty and that you're implying Nuclear weapons weren't on standby with both sides incase Gihren decided "fuck you I want to play dirty" they'd have to use the macross cannon since I'm not sure if the 50mm guns pods the valks have can penetrate mobile suit armor, while most of the GMs had beam scatter guns and beam sabers.

Valk gunpods have equal/better performance to MS machine guns, which have no trouble punching through OYW-era mobile suits that aren't made of luna titanium armor like the Gundam. Assuming that hypercarbon and luna titanium are roughly equivalent, then the gunpods can get through Gundams and the like with no problem, as in Macross the gunpods are shown as being effective against hypercarbon-armored enemies.
Then there's other assorted bullshit with comparing Valks against Mobile Suits, like the sheer difference in acceleration/speed and FTL, but that's a different discussion entirely. I'm making my way through Gundam in production order and my first Macross is Delta, but I've been lurking /m/ long enough to know that the tech gap between Gundam and Macross is ridiculous.
