He'd been meaning to retire for a while, he was just making sure to not leave things unfinished, once he did the victory and 0083 BDs he was done. It's a shame since the G-Gundam BDs are coming out soon, but we can't really expect him to give up his free time for it, especially since he'd stopped enjoying it.
