Code Name Steam.

Ok fine it's honestly more an example of "good Lovecraft game (even if sticking it to the cosmic horrors and not going insane along the way is a bit too cheery and optimistic to really fit the Lovecraft mood)" that happens to utilize a steampunk visual motif (even the advances in steam superscience are said to come from arcane knowledge sourced from the Necronomicon itself).

But bootleg 19th century XCOM with steam superscience fighting ayylmaos who want to freeze the world over, the hype train doesn't stop, not even once.

Your whole shtick relies on my post >>14338426 revealing my supposed lack of knowledge about science fiction. Now, in my post I simply said "Tic-Toc Men, Clockwork Dandies & Other Steampunk shenanigans" sounds like a cringy convention panel from 2009. So let's imagine two possibilities here:

1. I lack knowledge of classic science fiction. "Tic-Toc Men, Clockwork Dandies & Other Steampunk shenanigans" still sounds like a cringy convention panel from 2009.

2. I don't lack knowledge of classic science fiction. "Tic-Toc Men, Clockwork Dandies & Other Steampunk shenanigans" still sounds like a cringy convention panel from 2009.

My knowledge of classic science fiction is irrelevant and I have no idea why you brought it up. Seems to me that you desperately wanted to show off your own knowledge of genre fiction. Perhaps your taste in literature got ridiculed on /lit/, and you're desperate to vent your anger. It truly is bizarre, and only you know the real reason for your actions.

Not at all since your entire argument is nothing but self imposed supposition and ham-fisted baseless accusations.

"Repent Harlequin, said the Tick Tock Man" has been one of the most reprinted short stories in science fiction history and is considered a literary standard by most. To write it off as any sort of trivial obscure work only just further illustrates your ignorance of anything but the subject matter of conventions which you so claim to loathe.

Con culture, least of all Steam Punk Con culture which you allegedly despise yet seem to be quite the expert on, is superfluous in the context of this thread and the coincidence of the OP's post sounding like the name of a con panel doesn't prove or justify anything. It's nothing more than you tenuously trying to justify childish name calling and shit posting, nothing more.

Your entire presence in this thread has been nothing but goal post moving and hiding behind "It's obviously so obvious" to justify your baseless accusations and slander. And glancing back over the thread it would appear that the mods/janitors agree.

Check mate. The currency of your false bravado does not spend here friend.

All of those things together amounts to about 5-6 threads on the entire board at any given time, tops.

you all are permitted to make any thread that's not gundam.

>>
>>14344874
Actually that is the sort of thing that can be blamed on a boards current userbase.

You took a board that once frequently discussed things like western /m/ literature, obscure and little known mecha anime, retro sci-fi art dumps and discussion regarding real world military technology and then burned it all to a cinder with Gundam 00 autism and over the course of the past seven years subsequently turned it into chriss-chan's gundam emporium where we have six threads complaining about why the Gundams' arms in the newest series are blue. Fuck we used to have /m/ created original content, super rare scantilation dumps of obscure materials, uploads of rare or impossible to find /m/ OVAs and now we just have a catalog where any given thread has at least two others currently up virtually identical to it and any time someone tries to make a thread like this.

Yes I can blame you, and rightfully so you stagnation enabling malcontent. You came into this thread of your own volition, you've contributed nothing of value to it and then demand that you not be held accountable for this board being in the shape it is despite being more than content with the fact. Your entire existence here is nothing but a pathetic cry for agency in a world where you only want things to be "comfy".
>>
>>14344963

Even plumbers know this.

One has a single bulb shape while the other as an almost segmented appearance as the two paths lay one on top of the other where the two pipes meet at the valve.

Steampunk is an aesthetic, not a practical knowledge of plumbing or fictional steam works. It's like harassing a cyberpunk fan because they don't know how to actually know how to use linux.

>>
>>14347239
Actually, gate valves are more likely to have a curved bonnet. It's a design choice that a lot of manufacturers go with so engineers and operators can identify them from a distance.
Nice try though. The presence of a spindle would've been worth a half mark, since it does identify a globe valve (and its position) from a distance. But that's not necessarily true since cheap-ass plants will likely still throttle with gate (and even ball) valves because they're cheaper to order/replace.

>>14343250

Again, what would it have proven if I did know the recognizeable tells in the first place? Steampunk is an aesthetic, not a practical knowledge of piping or fictional steamworks. You don't have to know how linux works to like Cyberpunk. You don't have to know how a hypothetical ion engine works to watch Star Wars. I can't help but feel you were trying to make a point, but didn't have the settup or context to do so.
