Ing did some weird shit to it as he awakened and it screwed up the settings on the T-Link system the Ashe used. They didn't really have time or a good reason to stop and fix that before the end of the war. After II ended, they probably had a few months of relative silence to fix that up in.
As a reminder, that's also the only reason Ryusei is the only guy capable of piloting the R1 when it combines to SRX (Rai and Aya are locked for different reasons related to their training, but theoretically someone like Mai could pilot R1 - but when they were in La Gias she points out it would take a rather long time to adjust the way it all worked to allow for anyone other than Ryusei and they didn't have time.). Unlike the Exexbein, that one's not too likely to be fixed, but who knows...
So why haven't we seen more Escaflowne in the SRW series?

Just realized, Fu-Lu's Raftclans got a bit of a downgrade for the animation for her Orgone Rifle.
Here in J it's just a replica of the player Raftclans' attack, but that's certainly far more unique than just standing still and firing.

Orgone Rifle is weird in that it has two different animations in J, one where it fires bolts forward and one where it fires a beam, teleports, and fires another beam from behind. I think having Katia in the subpilot seat gives you the teleport version, while the other girls give you the bolts version.

I assume you mean Solo Finisher, because if not, there's stronger combos. FDS is 4200, Double Final God Mars is 4500, the strongest combo between Shin Getter and Shin Dragon (IIRC Final Getter Tomahawk?) is 4000, and there's a Triple Mazinger attack (Tornado I think?) that's 4000.
Shin Shine Spark (which is solo in this one) is 4000 though. As is the Macross Cannon. So you'd be right on that account.
If you count Basara, though, Try Again SB is 4500, Try Again is 4200, and Power To The Dream SB is 4000.

It has 4000 base? I was thinking of Macross Cannon, which IS 100 EN. Shine Spark is 70 and 1-3, but it ties with Final Getter Tomahawk, whcih is 100 EN and pointblank, meaning the attack is essentially worthless for Shin Dragon.
For Shin Getter though, it does beat Stoner Sunshine by 200 but that's still 100 EN off 2 mechs you're burning instead of just 60 for slightly less damage.
