Just finished watching IGPX: Immortal Grand Prix and I must say that it was spectacular show.
Interesting idea of combat racing robots and unpredictable plot, unusual and impressive mecha designs, interesting and cute characters + very good humor...
In general, it is a pleasure to watch
It's become one of my go to feel good shows for bright, sun shiny days. It's always comfortable to just dive into one odd day with nothing going on. Certainly helps that the dub is god tier
Oh man, I forgot about this one.
The action sequences were fucking phenomenal.
Is it available subbed anywhere? I have a hard time with dubs.

I loved the fuck out of it when it was airing on Cartoon Network. Amy and Max were adorable.
I just wish that it was more popular.
It wasn't even a "bad" show, aside from S2 reversing Takeshi's characterization to S1 levels. And certainly a lot more (sensical things) happens in it than, comparatively, Gundam IBO.
I'm not really sure why it just settled into permanent mediocrity.

On Bakabt. Alternatively, Discotek put out a new release.

Ratings, it got shoved to the friday midnight death slot by the end of the 2nd season. Also while it a was a decent series, it did nothing to make it exceptional or really memorable for people.
Plus it got a little heavy on the plot armor though in how Satomi could get the shit kicked out of them for the entire match, but manage to do one good attack on the enemy team and win. Edgeraid and blackegg got the worst of this one.
I'd like to see a remix of the original and Toonami tracks where the best track for each scene is used.

A simple explanation would probably be that it wasn't Gundam or Zoids, which were kind of the domineering robot shows at the time. Doesn't help that IGPX was airing around the same time as Gundam SEED.
Toonami soundtrack or uncut soundtrack?

i gotta say i love the toonami one

And now I'm listening to an Amon Tobin album. Thanks, /m/.

hey pal, you're very welcome.
have a good time
Real talk? Literally my favorite anime. Period.
I want models, or action figures, or even statues... fucking anything. God I love the robot designs. Bandai? Anyone? Please?...

i always wanted them to come out with team satomi jackets.
This show was never as big as it should have been

Well, this >>14325146
But also, I hear it got lost in licensing purgatory for a while after Bandai Entertainment was dissolved.
>>14325812
Right? I have all the regular individual volumes on DVD AND the remastered series box set, but I also just had to buy the special edition of Vol 1 to get the official T-Shirt as well. It's not enough. I need moar collectibles.
There aren't even that many high quality posters online to make custom prints for my wall with. Being an IGPX fan is suffering...

barely any fanart too

The best girl got some decent ones, at least.

Adult Swim, aka 'toonnami' aired it last year or the year before. So it isn't in limbo, it's just it bombed in the ratings in Cartoon Network's eyes so there wasn't a reason to keep reairing it. Also I assume Cartoon network still has the rights to it because they were the ones who produced it and Bandai was only in charge of publishing.

Damn shame her voice actress is garbage

No, but I said it WAS in limbo. Of some kind at least. It was recently reacquired though, and that's how they were able to air it AND were finally able to produce a new box set this year.

I don't think it was in limbo, just CN didn't know what to do with it since it wasn't popular. But since we don't have a definitive answer, all we can do is speculate in if it was either licensing issues or CN just sitting on it.

Best girl
I fucking loved the designs in this show.

Based discotek. IGPX had been out of print for years until this new release
>>14325152
Alas, but the vast majority mecha anime dedicated to military operations of varying degrees scall, using super robots and nutty pilots :(
However, IGPX of this unique show, as its main theme is gorgeous and breathtaking Mecha Royal Race, entertainment and spectacular contest of outstanding teams - only similar to this that I can remember is RideBack

Speaking of them, they got some announcements planned this weekend, so keep watch.
