I thought the first OVA was way too uneventful & action-shy (I wasn't expecting an action show, but still). Movie was pretty good though.

It mostly doesn't matter THAT much, but OVA 2 is clearly making sequels and references to the tv show episodes.

There are two continuities
>OVA 1 > Movie 1> Movie 3> Movie 2
The OVA is 'canon' to the movie pretty much because nothing in the movies seem to contradict the OVA.
The second timeline is
>TV Series> OVA 2
The TV series has a completely different introduction for the characters, firmly making it a different continuity even though the characters are essentially the same. The second OVA is a direct continuation of the TV series.
The live action series is barely subbed, and seems like it will stay that way for some time unless it gets licenced by some obscure distributor.
