Hey, /m/, how do you guys like the new War Labor?
>>14319066
Who's on art duties?
That looks pretty decent for how it's stylized.
What's the context?
>>14319066
>le wacky and cheeky i'm a girrrrrrrrrl hear me roar! pandering character
I don't even know what this is, and I've not even read anything outside of a few star wars comics 10 years ago, but it seems to me that comic books are dead. They seem to have been for a while now, but they're at the forefront of literally everything wrong with western entertainment at the moment. Irredeemable garbage, through and through.
>>14319066
How is this allowed? They didn't even try to be original.
>>14319066
So is Rhodey being replaced or is he passing the torch? If it's the former, it's shit.
>>14319143
>passing the torch to some Chucky-looking teeny bopper
Plz no
Holy shit, Bendis has gotten bad about his dialogue.
>>14319111
It's Marvel, so business as usual for their modern comics.
>>14318956
>>14319066
>look at me I am a teenager wacky girl still going to school
>except Imma also a superhero except Imma girl and did I tell ya how wacky I am oh btw Imma girl
this is like your average "Japanese highschooler saves earth" but worse
>>14319223
It's modern comics. Gotta be as progressive as possible and hire shit artists because obviously nobody reads comics for that.
>>14319165
Bendi' ahs been bad for a while though
>>14319249
the worst thing about this is these new characters wouldn't have survived a year had they been an original work rather than be a tie-in character
>>14319100
How is that decent art?
>>14319139
Marvel artists have traced over EVA before as well as memes and men's catalogs despite Marvel having a strict no tracing policy.
>>14319314
Don't you mean Greg Land?
>>14319286
>>14319249
Post that squirrel girl and galactus page that looks worse than tumblr fanart.
>>14319323
Greg Land was caught tracing porn, memes, and men's catalogs. Salvador Larrova was caught tracing EVA and actors from Lost. Mike Deodato Jr. uses poser.
You guys just don't understand that women are funny. Just look at the sure to be a massive success upcoming ghostbusters movie.
>>14319331
You would think that they wouldn't try that shit knowing how obsessive and autistic comic fans can be. Some crazy person was certain to recognize it.
>>14319143
Bendis killed him off in Civil War 2 to imitate the movie where he was paralyzed.
>>14319341
I think women can be funny, but this was still a mistake
>>14319352
Land gets away with it because he gets his work done on time and he has a family to support.
Seriously. That's what they said.
Olivier Coipel got caught tracing some foreign politician for a picture of Magneto he drew for House of M and got in trouble for it. Meanwhile you can go to /co/ and ask for all the evidence against Land and Larroca and get tons of images proving they're tracers and they STILL get work. Larroca is so lazy he can't even be bothered to draw backgrounds anymore. Look at some of his Iron Man run, the backgrounds are actual pictures!
>>14319341
The problem isn't the all-women cast though. The problem is that it's completely unfunny and doesn't understand what made the original Ghostbusters a beloved classic movie.
>>14319380
>some foreign politician for a picture of Magneto he drew for House of M
He traced the king of Spain.
>>14319371
Why the fuck does bendis hate all black super heroes that aren't Luke Cage.
>>14319380
Doesn't Land trace his own private pictures though? Tracing leads to legal trouble when it's done with sources that aren't owned by the artist.
>>14319569
He traces porn.
>>14319596
Homemade porn tho?
>>14319634
Who the fuck would want to make porn with that Uncle Fester-looking sumbitch?
>>14319569
Nah. He traces whatever he can find. Sometimes you can find his sources simply by searching something on google and looking at the first page.
>>14319331
>Mike Deodato Jr. uses poser
How was he caught?
>>14319331
>Mike Deodato Jr. uses poser.
A lot of artists do. Dolls and action figures are also common.
>>14319100
>That looks pretty decent for how it's stylized.
>>14319832
Ya, I'm not really sure how that's bad, since he's presumably using Poser to build and configure models as well as pose them to see the panel before he draws it. I think the guy drawing Ex Machina used to get friends or models to pose hoe he wanted before drawing them using the photo as reference for pose too. It seems fine as a way to check the posing and all is good before drawing to me and isn't using someone else's work or property for your own profit.
>>14319832
Gantz was made with poser too.
>>14319898
It's pretty common to use 3D to mock up and stage scenes before drawing. Anime does it all the time.
What is it about the Ingram that makes Western artists want to rip it off?
>>14319669
His pages and characters have a lot of the stiffness you usually associate with poser art as well as the coloring. But it really became obvious during the middle of Bendis's run of Dark Avengers.
>>14320264
It's the head. That fuckin' head is so good, dude.
>>14319341
SNL has been complete shit for years now.
I don't see how anyone would've considered it a good idea to cast from their members.
Nothing wrong with ripping something of, just call it "inspired by". Everyone does it.
Lying/hiding it however is bad.
