Gainax perfect mecha by adding depth to the genre with Evangelion. Not bad for their first production.
Then they perfected it again with Gurren Lagan, objectively the best /m/ show.

I never had a problem with the dub. It was definitely rough, but the main characters were well cast. Misato and Ritsuko's VAs gave outstanding performances.
I always found it amusing that the class rep girl's voice actor had an ~incredibly~ Texan accent because it clashed so wildly with everyone else's standard accent.

Didn't like Misato's as much but it was good enough for what it was. Poor class rep though, the cutest girl got the most jarring voice.
