Manga artist Makoto Niwano (Bomber Girl, Deltora Quest) is breathing new life into Henshin Ninja Arashi, a classic ninja manga created by Shotaro Ishinomori, with a new series entitled Henshin Ninja Arashi Kai that will be released in LEED Publishing's Monthly Comic Ran anthology magazine.

Henshin Ninja Arashi Kai ("Transformation Ninja Storm Kai") is set during the height of the Sengoku Period, prior to the Battle of Sekigahara. While warlords vie for control of Japan, heroic ninja hide in the shadows and use their supernatural powers to oppose the forces of evil. Henshin Ninja Arashi Kai will debut in the August issue of Monthly Comic Ran, which will be published in Japan on June 27, 2016.

The original Henshin Ninja Arashi manga by Shotaro Ishinomori ran in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 1972 to 1973. The manga also inspired a live-action tokusatsu TV drama produced by Toei during the same time period.

You're right. Ishinomori is a hack. That's why I'm going to visit the Ken Ishikawa Museum in the Tochigi Prefecture my next vacation. Now that's one place everyone who appreciate the art of manga should visit someday. This incredible place with open view to the sea was built as homage to the life and work of this legendary man who is widely known as a genius artist and one of the founding fathers of the comic book art as we know and love in his homeland Japan.
