Shit drops every time there's a writer strike. And studios find they can just lower the bar and keep going. And the stuff unaffected or born from the strikes that is actually good gets taken for granted as the "usual stuff."

The lips are literal casts of their faces. That's why they look so big. Original Super Sentai likely did the same thing, then realized that looks stupid. So they went with a more stylized smaller mouths.

Exactly. They basically just took the Iron Man aesthetic, slapped the Zyuranger colors on it, and kinda stretched the helmet features over the Iron Man head proportions. Everything's just so stretched out and over-greebled they look like distended aliens more than people in armor.

Easier to tweak on post production. Special effects have come to a point where given enough budget you won't notice objects as CG. Iron Man suit is always pure CG super imposed on RDJ acting. I guess the production team here thought they should ape that.

Nah m8, they have the actual suit and suit actors on it during the movie, they only really use CG when in the action scenes and sometimes when Tony is masked they still use a actor in the armor to get better movements only using the CG to make it perfect, look at the studio who did the armor for IM2
