I like everything that looks industrial as fuck, like the scopedogs or the MADOX suits.
I don't think the real difference is between "realistic" and "unrealistic", because it means very little, it's between "industrial" and "toy-like".
And I don't mean that to disrespect some of the more toy-like designs, it's just that it's obvious that some mechs are designed specifically to sell toys, while others aren't, and as a result they tend to look more industrial.
