Gusion Rebake was a fucking awesome Gundam.
Honestly they should remove the whole long range gunner aspect from it. It doesn't really add anything and it seems to always end up swapping to melee in the end anyways. It's much cooler as just a straight up powerhouse melee MS.

I like it. Round booster pods, multiple arms, and tan paint are all things I really like.

The 1/100 comes with the axe and the other gusions hammer and gun as well which it can hold. If you have the cash for it then it's better than the HG.
Only real reason to get the hg is the scale and price. You'll have to buy the weapon pack to get the axe though.

The Gusion Rebake has the unfortunate fate as a kit I don't think bandai thought would sell well...
The general engineering on Barbatos (and the rest of the line) is pretty damn good for an HG, but the Rebake over simplified a ton of engineering that seemed so simple on Barbatos.
And it is such a shame as it is such a great looking MS. Definitely get the 1/100 if you can. Much better engineering on it and looks a lot better for a snapfag like myself.

Honestly I would've just liked the vanilla Guison.
The little frog Gundam had it's own charm and was fucking effective as hell as a frontline unit. Rebake's real problem is that I have no idea what the hell it is supposed to be for.
Is it a sniper? A support? A melee fighter? A waiter Gundam? It's just a jack of all trades.

I think full armor Gusion was the way it was to make up for the pilots lack of the AV system. Couldn't reflexively dodge shots as well as your average child soldier, so he made up the difference with heavy armor and cannon fodder backup. That at least is how I see it, God only knows what the real reason is.

Fair point, still if Mika can master the folded by monks 10000 times and Red Tallgeese can pierce Lilac Centaur like a hot knife through brie using yellowminium blades, you have to wonder why more MS in the series aren't using swords. Harder to use perhaps, but they seem pretty effective.
The Teal Eyebrow Mistress used a sword but was garbage with it.

Funny thing is, as far as swords go, the Katana is retardedly forgiving. Elevens are under the weird impression that their style of swordsmanship is the only way to actually use a katana; by extension, because their schools of combat are complicated, the use of their sword must be as well. Nothing could be further from the truth.

This. The implication was the katana is so hard to use, only when Mika reached 200% sinchronization with the Barbatos did he have the finesse and motor skills to use it.
There's also the fact the last time he used it was against the Brewer's Gusion, and that thing has so much armor he couldn't find a good spot to stab, so he just went "fuck this shit, maces are better".

I'll say this about IBO, there isn't a single unique MS I actually dislike the design of. Visually they're all cool. The worst, to me, is Graze Ein and that says a lot since GE is awesome.
