30m is pretty big, and it's probably at least somewhat a reference to Giant Robo, which is at the same size.

Only the original series ones, and it would be rather difficult given that Gundams are about 1/4 the size of an Eva. If we're talking Rebuild, they're only 40m so that's about 2 times as big as a Gundam, and thus right out.
