Well, since these are ded hours for /m/ and their's not much to do in the thread until tomorrow, I thought I'd post some of the progress shots that I'd been intentionally withholding so as to have more of a surprise come match day.
First up is one I've posted before, but it's an obligatory first stop.

Changed up the bay doors to more or less what they are now which let me park some of the audience on the bottom incline.
The goals were adjacent to the end bay doors with a service/storage bay to the side in this configuration.
The idea for the stadium at this state was to be a Dendrobium Orchis space hangar, since it once dawned on me that the state size of the Orchis was comparable to a football pitch

I couldn't help but feel the stadium was feeling a bit crammed and small in comparison to the /m/u/ and the Valley pitches I'd built previously, so in an effort to give things an increased sense of scale I turned the lattice structure 90
Had to stretch the structure from a long rectangle to a more square shape to accommodate the now crosswise configuration of the pitch.
Dump one bay door at this point and kept the side line "blocks" and deck for use on the other end.
Also started experimenting with a huge see through glass pitch to help sell the sense of being in space once the earth plane was to be added.

Eventually I turned the entire structure 90 again to its current setup of running parallel to pitch side lines.
Visible in this pic is the old stands on the right with the current stands on the left. I opted for elevating the stands since it made the star field in the background more visible from the level of the pitch to once again help ssell the feeling of being in space

After a while I thought the see-through pitch was going to be far too visually busy to comfortably view so I pulled in a default pitch model and poked some holes in it as a bit of a compromise

Curiously ended up installing walls on the bay at this point. Was briefly conflicted about whether a hangar for war machines, should have giant windows on it.
Hanging in the center was what was to be one of two gantry crane slide robot arms, that were to play off the idea that the stands were to be partially filled with iconic bits of /m/ cargo and the arms were there for loading
Their designs were kinda uninspired and lacking so I left them out.
The stadium actually looks cool but I have one major complaint.
I can't see the ball.
I really can't. He's all gray and that kinda sucks. I had to squint the whole match to see where the thing was.
I had other ideas for balls, like brocken ball or borot ball from Shin Mazinger. That was pretty funny and more colorful.
If not, Haro would do, but then the team is already overly saturated with Gundam.
Oh, and balls apart, I think some more warm color would be nice in my opinion. Also, is it possible to design giant robot models and put them up flying or on the side? Maybe a Getter, Mazinger, Gundam, Scopedog, whatever is looking down on the pitch. Could be cool.

Decided to go half and half on the walls and windows issue. Was stating to come under more and more influence from Tekkaman Blade by this point so I chalked it up as the facility being bolted to the side of the ring which could sort of justify the gravity, although I had given though to modeling the gravity drives from SDF Macross's early episodes and slapping a label on them that says "Grav Generator"
Visible in the distance is where I changed up the decks on the far end with some greebles, a loading gangplank and some preliminary docking clamps, along with the garage doors

As for you final question, the stadium is largely a work in progress. I have intentions to populate the place inside and out with knickknacks and easter eggs from all sorts of /m/ IPs. I gone so far as to start modeling the Orchis, but it was slow rough going and set it aside in favor getting the main part of the stadium to completion
Maybe when I get the time and energy I put together a mobile suit or an iconic space ship to park in it.
