What american cartoons have made mecha references, besides Megas?
>>14222413
Futurama made fun of Robotech that one time
lots, sadly i can't think of any on top of my head.

Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go! feels like one big reference.
They also had a secondary robot model that looked a FUCKTON like a Getter. It was a background giant robot that would appear later on in the series, sometimes even in multiples, but it had Getter-1's "ears".
>>14222425
>that blatant fucking ingram
How'd they even get away with that?
>>14222425
I appreciate the reference, but
>Patlabor
>Giant laser
>>14222464
same way iron man GP03 or the kampfer, gouf, and alex power armor does
Power Rangers, Captain America, etc. all make references to the fictional country of America where Battle Fever J's Miss America comes from.
>>14222471
Postem.
>>14222580
>>14222628
What comic is that?
>>14222638

>>14222628
>Chars dendrobrium
>>14222413
There was an episode of Regular Show that was basically /m/- the episode.
>>14222464
by fucking it up bad enough to look like a standard garbage capeshit mecha design from the legs down
>>14222805
It was basically shallow reference the episode. Whenever these assholes do "references" it's always incredibly LOOK X EXISTS. That's not a joke, that's you idiots barking like you're Pavlov's fucking bitch
>>14222827
all references are shallow in the sense that they appeal to someone's knowledge of the referenced entity for their value.
Doesn't bother me.
>>14222819
Not him, but thanks for reminding me this exists.
>>14222805
>>14222827
This. I didn't like it. I want robots on their own terms, not "quirky homages :^)". Then again I'm not much for "Beta, his Bro and The Status Quo" the show.
>>14222833
You can do a reference without it being HEY LOOK REMEMBER X!
Megas did it all the fucking time. You don't have to know who Harlock is to appreciate Warlock. He exists as his own character and the Harlock connection only served as inspiration and makes him richer. It was the same with S-force. Magnanimus was a but strong on the Campbell Ill grant you but you still don't have to know him or Modock to get the jokes.
>>14222836
How does she stand? Is she lifting her whole body with her arms alone?
>>14222924
Who are you referring to?
In any case, if by standing you mean riding, then you can see that the rider on the left is fitting into the machine via multiple points; e.g. clamps on her middle, her heels lock onto the footrests/pedals, etc.
Right is anyone's guess. It's a shitty copy. Go watch Bubblegum Crisis.
>>14222413
>>14223019
But anon, that's OC
>>14222952
Ill shit on classic Bubblegum for a week plot but no one can say Sonada didn't have a nigh autistic devotion to mechanical detail
>>14222952
Right obviously.
>>14223048
Right is held up by Lifeldian meme magic. Don't question that shit.
>>14223021
I can't place any specific references, but it's clear that Dexter's Lab borrows a lot from /m/ shows and anime in general.
>>14222425
>>14222456
They're horns, you stupid nigger
>>14222873
Kill yourself, delusional nostalgiafag
>>14222873
HEY LOOK REMEMBER HARLOCK
>>14222413
There was that one SU episode where Pearl made a giant robot and did an Inazuma Kick
>>14223052
Have you ever seen a drawing that gets worse every time you look at it?
>>14223711
There is no need to be upset.
>>14223052
American Ishikawa
>>14223848
Nobody here is.
>>14222873
Rewatch that episode of Megas XLR. You will see the Zeta Gundam and a VF-1 sitting in that guy's hangar bay!
>>14222413
>>14223924
>that G gundam suit scene
>that small no budget macross missiles
>that cooler character in a spaceship that combines with the main mecha
>that general scalation
This is the B E S T episode of Regular Show. Many come close, but this is the best.
>>14223941
Soulless references are pretty fun
>>14223941
>Regular Show
>Soulless
Really? I've never had that feeling with the show in general. And it has lots of little jookes/references to shit from the 80s-90s.
I guess it being american adds an atmosphere of general soullessnes.
>>14223965
was for >>14223959
>>14223965
Mindless jokes and references do not give any kind of soul
>>14223861
>Nobody here is.
>They're horns, you stupid nigger
>Kill yourself, delusional nostalgiafag
>Nobody here is
Home Movies had a Gerwalk VF-1 in it
>>14223981
>Spiderman memes
Go back to Reddit where you belong

Yup, he mad.
