Mk.II is alright but I think 0080 & 0083 kinda ruined it a little. The Alex and GPs were pretty rad and going from them to Mk.II is a little rough.
What ever happened to the other Mk.II's though? I assume one was used for spare parts, but where'd the other go? They used two of them early on in Z then the one just poofs out of existence.

But I love the Mk. II. It's my favorite traditional Gundam/UC Gundam design. It takes what made the RX-78-2 great and subdues the colors, which gives it a more serious looking color scheme. The hints of red and yellow color are placed in spots that help draw your eye all around the MS.
I agree with >>14221753 in terms of the earmuffs. While not the worst thing ever, I feel like the design works better without them. Perhaps if they were smaller or a different color they would look better.
However I can not agree with >>14221745. I am just not a fan of the Titans colors. I prefer my Gundams in white.
But I do love it. I'd love it more if the chest would be more of a navy blue in the model kits instead of a darker, almost black colored, blue. I can't into painting.

Bought a 1/144 gundam mk2. Years later the thing's falling part. Left legs loose and wobbly. Decide to have some fun with it and see just how much a plastic model can take.
Throw poppers against it, it does nothing. Strap fire crackers around it, surprisingly does very little damage, leaves some scorch marks one one shoulder pad and shield. Gives it a nice battle worn look.
Step it up and strap a model rocket engine to the back of it. After all, who's ever wondered if these things could stay airborne? Light it off, it immediately falls over and skims across the ground a couple times before slamming into a far off parked van.
Take pieces and gtfo, realize can't find the left shoulder pad as it's no where to be found. Piece the thing back together, give it thruster binders on the backpack. Loose leg is still loose, slightly melted and discolored. Declare it held together amazingly and have left it alone.
I love the MK-II very much. Sadly it's legacy is in Zeta's shadow, but that makes me love it more.
Wonder what a hybrid of the Alex and Mark II would be like, or Gundam Alex Titans Version?

The Mk II along with the GP01 is the only Gundam design that manages to stay faithful to the original RX-78 design while still looking like clean simple upgrade. No fancy jetpacks, no wings, no weird faceplate or V-fin design. Just pure Gundam.

Nah I got best intermediate. This was my second costume so I couldn't compete in masters category yet. Best in Show went to Kamen Rider group with a killer dance routine. No way to beat a really well done group at these shows if your by your lonesome since its 50/50 craftsmanship & performance.
