I'm not surprised it's not selling well, but I'd like to know the sales numbers.
It has a lot of things that ought to make it good or popular, like a nice art style, and some of the most popular current voice actors, and it's kind of fun, but in the end the show just falls flat. The direction/story composition feels so off. The Akutagawa/Port Mafia reveal/introduction was so fucking poorly done it even turned me off the series, and choosing Ono Kensho to voice a dark and edgy character was stupid, because he just cannot pull it off. The latest episode was just a mess as well.

Bungou just doesn't have the plot to sustain it. In my opinion, the manga has too many characters and the anime exacerbates the plot issues by adding humour.

Also, like Joker Game, it seems like it'd be nice, but really the execution is just poor, and every week I'm just left with an "Ok, so that was that" feeling.
The potential is there with both shows (a lot of shows this season, actually), but it's just not coming through, sadly.

It seemed like a surefire hit but since it's been put up for preorder it's consistently been pretty low. There was a little boost after the latest though. Ono is a very strange choice for the edgy guy, he'd be better suited to Atsushi if anyone.
