The art isn't as bad as most Gundam manga, but coming from Kitazume it could be a lot better.
The story really takes a lot of liberties, particularly with the very black and white moral positioning of the Titans. I'd rather see them more ambiguously presented.
Zero Shiki is sexy but that's about all it has going for it.

To me the worst part of Z-Define isn't it's shitty art or writing, but instead the fact that it was supposed to be a sequel to the Origin. And now we'll never actually see some grande retelling of UC by Yas thanks to this shitty writer.

the zero/hyaku shiki isn't a failed prototype, the delta gundam that it was based off is the failure. it's not expensive and hard to make as far as I know, it was just a one-off machine
in zeta MSV there's a bunch of HS variants and one or two of them were being considered for mass production as a replacement for rick dias and nemo
