The visor is actually a faceplate over the sensor head which is a cover for the Gundam head which was secretly a protected Brave head which is destroyed to reveal a monoeye.

You got a problem with reverse joints? Some of the better legs you can get in Chromehounds. If you had a sniper and it ain't a reverse joint leg then you were running a six shooter and likely base sniping using ML-Thawr legs

Standard Legs just didn't do enough to make them viable as most of the time you just threw the body on a Meade tank chassis and you get all the speed, load capacity and armor of even the heaviest standard legs but MORE!

Also Do not mock the King Crab. It's a 100 ton Spheroid trying to give some variety to the weight class which ain't the fugly Stalker or the overused as fuck Atlas.

>>
>>14200250
Wrong, faggot: they just improve your target acquisition fidelity: Almost all modern tanks and attack helicopters use them, as do modern ships and infantry fighting vehicles.

They allow a vehicle to detect targets and fire earlier with less movement - turning their optics cluster instead of their entire machine and having a better dedicated optics system than a more generalized system with a wide aperture which would be more computationally intensive, fragile and complex.

https://youtu.be/k3QBq-owwZ8?t=242

https://youtu.be/DKyb_0GojTE?t=181
You do know the rifle on a robot would also have a wired scope? The head designates a target. Arm aligns, targets using the scope. Before firing, the head is already searching for the next target.

Realistically, there would be more than one head, to prevent target fixation and for better overall coverage. Probably one main, one sub-detection system in each shoulder and then a dedicated specialized optics system in the gun itself for primary secondary and tertiary detection and acquisition.

The head would be for getting a sense of terrain and object locations, probably with a second cluster between the legs. The shoulders zero targets in. The rifle sensors would be doing ballistic computation for accurate striking, identical to a battleship or tank turret.

For all your "muh realism", you don't know your shit, do you? Fucking MW fags, obsessed with the aesthetic of what they think is realism but having no idea about vehicular combat, technology or physics.

>he doesn't like his robots with faces to intimidate his foes AND to create a more empathetic machine.
How can one man have such poor taste?

Personally I think that every head AND headless are all viable and cool. Especially good, in my view, are unusual layouts and in-betweens. For example, a humanoid face on an utterly inhuman machine can create a very uncanny and intimidating robot.

And where the FUCK are the monoeyes?
That list is garbage.

Not him, but Titanfall's colossal blunder has entered a meme status which it will never recover from.

Nobody will ever forget this page right here. And why should they? Additional consensus on the game being mediocre and the robots being gimped doesn't help either. It just comes off as something so obnoxious and embarassing that for a well-rounded memer there is absolutely no reason (in meme terms) to ever let Titanfail live it down.

Is it actually helpful? Productive or able to support discussion that isn't mostly bashing? Usually, no. But nevertheless it's left a permanent scar.

The funny thing is, when the game came out people struggled to think of any mechs that were slower or clunkier than the Titans. Most mechs, even mechs just released or originating in the West make them look like "your grandpas walker".
>>
>>14200270

I've just started watching Dougram and the design of the Soltic has really grown on me. Despite that, I have to wonder: is that like some sort of super glass? Was there a good reason it was thought putting the pilot in an incredibly exposed fishbowl at the top of the mech was a clever idea?

Is it to do with the X-Nebula fucking computers to the extent that you couldn't have a camera and screens in the cockpit?

Sensor mask breaks to reveal twin-eye or Gundam which breaks in the final battle revealing the Brave head just in time for one final shout.

In the ending it's revealed the mecha was actually a robot controlled by a spirit guardian of the Earth and now he's going to sleep until he's needed again and he gives one final farewell to the MC and co.

I mentioned already that it's mainly the blunder of the statement itself that creates the meme. Is Titanfall -technically- /m/? Yes. But after that debacle? It'd be a disgrace to let it keep that status.

That's what I mean by meme status. We know it to be /m/ in the sense that the machines involved are giant robots, but that single page is such a colossal singular fuckup that nobody has any real reason to let the game ever live it down, and the other factors mentioned in my original post also add to this. It was a big claim from someone who may not have even been related to the staff but as it's still related to the game itself it only serves to make the game and everything related look more stupid.

The fact that it's taken such root is testament to this. The majority believes it to have been a stupid ass blunder on the part of the developers and I agree with them, because it really is that fucking stupid.

>>14201634
The stuff is effectively bulletproof in series IIRC. Anything that'd break the glass usually has to be on the level where there'd be no reason not to kill the rest of the CA too.

The X-Nebula doesn't even mess with computers that much, it only really hampers long-distance communication. It's barely brought up most of the time, and by the time the Blockhead T10C (the tan version of the T10B Blockheads) comes, it's irrelevant. You'll see why.
>>

We seem to think along similar lines, and you've put much more thought into this than I have, I'll ask you about this and push your idea a little further. I mean woke the system sounds like it would quirk well,a mech can't just be made of sensors, right? Say I wanted a more economical system of sensors suite. Which parts of your system could we cut or combine or work around? Could we just keep the head, and move the shoulder cameras to the lower back and put them on a swiveling mount, with each of them covering 270 degrees horizontally?
