kinda went too slow and long for so little payoff, plus the whole "everyone dies" thing is a total bummer, Cybernetics Guardian does a lot of what Demons of Steel tried a whole lot more competently and more entertainingly

I was expecting something along the lines of Zeorymer, but got a (slightly above-average) typical throwaway 70's Kaiju flick. Not really bad I guess, but the buildup is hardly worth the few minutes of fighting near the end.
You have me beat on the designs though, those robots are fucking beautiful.

I thought it was pretty bland all in all, sure, not an utter piece of garbage like Big Wars but still, it was mediocre and overshadowed by the actually good OVAs back then.
The mecha design is perfect. A shame about the boring pace.
